I've been holding onto a gift card from Omaha Steaks for a couple of years. Thankfully by the time I wanted to try them out there happened to be a wonderful sale going on.
I have never ordered from Omaha Steaks before so I was thankful for their easy-to-use website.
I decided on getting the Welcome Sampler which included the below:
- 4 (4 oz.) Omaha Steaks Burgers
- 4 (3 oz.) Gourmet Jumbo Franks
- 2 (5 oz.) Filet Mignons
- 2 (5 oz.) Top Sirloins
This combo was $49.99 and since I had a $50 gift card I only had to pay for shipping which was under $15. Yay!
Via email I received an order confirmation, shipping confirmation with tracking number as well as a delivery confirmation. Talk about consistency!
When my order was delivered via UPS I was so excited. I opened my cooler box and found my items still frozen on dry ice. This was pretty amazing considering it was shipped from Omaha, Nebraska to northern Alabama three days prior.
This is what my package looked like:
I loved that every individual box came with directions for storing, thawing, and cooking.
I put the Top Sirloin steaks in the fridge to thaw and the remaining packages went in the freezer.
As I mentioned before their website is very user friendly and I also liked how they have a lot of how-to videos on youtube.
I'm going to review these by the order of which we enjoyed them.
The Top Sirloins had a beautiful color and marble to them. I seasoned these with a little extra virgin olive oil (evoo), salt and pepper and put them on my big green egg. I served them with my favorite mashed potatoes and these were amazing. Flavorful, tender and great off the grill.
On their website they say, "Our Gourmet Jumbo Franks have been lauded as the Best Hot Dog in America" and we agreed that they were the best franks we had ever had. I will be adding these into the rotation.
I'd have to say for a couple of years now we only eat bison burgers because we prefer the flavor over beef. However, these Omaha Steak Burgers were delicious. I liked how these burgers were grill ready, no need to add seasonings or form them into a patty. I cut up a couple of potatoes, tossed them in some evoo, salt and pepper and added all of these to my big green egg. I toasted the buns then added a little bit of cheese, simple toppings and served with the home fries.
These Omaha Steak Burgers had an amazing beef flavor and reminded me of the type of burger you'd get an expensive restaurant. They were really good. I will definitely be adding these into the rotation as well.
I saved the Filet Mignons for last, and I admit I was a little sad that this was my last package out of my order to enjoy. These steaks were well marbled, rich flavored and tender. I paired these with my first backyard bounty of yellow squash and like all of the other Omaha Steaks products, the quality of the meat shined through. These are one of the better beef steaks I have ever had.
These items are what we would expect from a quality local butcher but where we moved to now, we don't have a quality local butcher so I am glad that I decided to cash in my gift card.
Hands down these products are worth the money.
If you're on a tight budget this may the type of thing you'll want to shop the sales on, but you won't be disappointed with the quality of the product.
If you're looking for something to cook your special someone this would be a great way to go.
Thank you Omaha Steaks for providing quality meats and service. I will definitely be ordering from your company again.
Have you ever ordered anything from Omaha Steaks? What meats and veggies do you like to barbecue?
