DIY Eye Makeup Remover

As you read in this post, I mentioned how I use coconut oil as my eye makeup remover.

The coconut oil is gentle on my skin and is 100% natural.

What you will need:

  • cotton rounds or cotton balls
  • coconut oil

Directions:

Scoop out a dime size amount of coconut oil with a cotton round.

Close your eyes and apply to your eyelids/eyelashes moving in a circular motion.  You will feel your makeup melt away as the coconut oil warms up.

You will be amazed at how gentle this is as an eye makeup remover.  No rubbing or tugging on your lashes and this even works with waterproof mascara.

I then follow with Thayers Witch Hazel to cleanse and moisturize my face.

I use coconut oil for a lot of other things too, so instead of using the same jar for everything I have them split up.

One for everything else (bulk 54oz from costco, $19.99), one for the kitchen (16oz from Trader Joe's, $5.99) and one for the bathroom (repurposed jelly ball mason jar).

For the one for the bathroom, I scooped out coconut oil from the bulk jar from costco, placed it into a jelly mason jar until reaching the desired amount then screwed on the lids.

This size is perfect for not only the bathroom but for travel as well. The coconut oil starts to melt when it reaches 76 °F, but this jar seals everything in nicely.
